Marco Barrila

Story

Chef Marco Barrila, born and raised in Messina, Sicily was impressed at an early age by the vast range of regional food dishes while traveling Northern and Southern Italy.

Marco found his passion for cooking at age 13 while working in his grandmother’s trattoria La Caraffa which was established back in the 1800s.

By the time he was 18, Marco had already apprenticed at local bakeries, butchers and pasta shops. At 24, he moved to New York City to begin his career as a chef.

He currently is the chef and owner of Insatiable Eats, a events and catering company and Shinnecock Lobster Factory.

“It seems like only yesterday I found myself in a foreign land pursuing my dreams. My business and non-profit work is a culmination of my life, experiences and all of the people I have met along the way. Please join me as I continue my life’s work of bringing joy to the world through my culinary creations.”
